We are happy to announce that the NC State Extension State Advisory Council is once again offering Advisory Support Mini-Grants to counties to provide funding for activities focused on strengthening local advisory councils.
The annual SAC county assessment of $100 that we request each year in January provides the funding for the grants. The State Advisory Council wishes to use these funds to give back to counties for council improvement.
Guidelines:
- The county may request funds in September and in March only. (closing October 17th for this period)
- Counties that have paid the assessments regularly in previous years will have priority.
- Counties are eligible to receive a grant every 2 years.
- The funds may only be used to support an activity or event that will further the development of the local council. Examples:
- Holding a legislative event to engage and inform elected leaders about N.C. Cooperative Extension
- Providing training for advisory members
- Work as a cluster of counties to train and orient advisory members
- Event to develop public and private partnerships
- Holding a training retreat with advisory council members
- The expected range of the County Advisory Support Grant is $500 – 1000 and must be spent within a year.
- Grant recipients will receive reimbursements when supplied with receipts and a 1-page summary of the activity or event and the results achieved.
The grant application is available on this google form. Please contact Susan Kelly with any questions about the SAC grant process.
