Margaret “Meg” Howdy – New State Advisory Council Member

Margaret “Meg” Howdy is the new State Advisory Council member for the Northeast District. She will be representing Beaufort, Bertie, Martin & Washington Counties.

Meg is a Washington native. She attended UNC-Chapel Hill and then returned home where she worked in community banking for 13 years.

In 2018, Meg became Executive Director of the Washington Harbor District Alliance which focuses on economic development in Washington’s downtown business district on the water. She is a Net Promoter Certified Associate Professional as well as a Certified Financial Education Instructor.

Some of her civic accomplishments include: Past President of Beaufort County United Way Board Of Directors; assisted with several 4-H Livestock shows; led Beaufort County’s 4-H Fit Club, member of various committee’s with First United Methodist Church, it’s Church Council & Youth Program. Meg runs the Washington’s Saturday Farmers & Artisans Market and serves on Beaufort County’s Healthy Eating Active Living Collaborative.

Meg lives in downtown Washington with her two dogs, Champ & Gracie
