Joe Zublena Advisory Council Award

Presented annually, the Joe Zublena Advisory Council Award recognizes exemplary leadership in local advisory systems. Initiated to honor the former North Carolina Extension Director, this award recognizes excellence in the areas of advisory council engagement, diversity of volunteers, developing and sustaining partnerships, building community capacity, and communicating impacts to elected officials.

This $500 award will be presented to one local advisory council at the spring or summer SAC meeting each year, 2016 -2020. Funds may be utilized at the discretion of the local advisory council. The deadline for submission has been extended to Wednesday, June 15, 2016.

Nominations include the award cover page in addition to a written narrative nomination statement of up to four pages explaining the work of the local advisory council and its impact on the local community. Current SAC members must make nominations.
